Poetry ILT
The question of the day is what is poetry?
Poetry is an artistic writing, that brings the readers imagination.
I think people write poetry so that other people could also have some fun reading and also use their imagination.
So at school the Grade 6's have this ILT week and they are given a Topic on what to do the things on.
So they are given instructions on what to do on the topic and they give you activities based to this topic and you have to do these activities for the whole week.
So this year it was our turn to have ILT week and we were given the topic of Poetry and we were given 6 activities to do in a group and some alone.
So the first activity was Terminology and for this task we had to work in a group and we had to find out what words mean and put the words in our own words.
The second one was the Poetry writing and this was also done in a group and here we had to choose a theme that you are going to write the poem in and you must write 3 poems in the same theme.
The third one was the Black out Poetry and for the one you have to make a poem from a page from a book an draw something to make it creative.
The forth one is the Poetry Slam and for this one you have to write a poem and act it out.
The fifth one is the Analyzing poems and this one you do alone and you are given 3 poems that you have to read and you must say how the poems made you feel.
The sixth one is the Imagry and you do this alone. So you have to to read a poem and these poems you are given three different options and you must choose one and draw how it makes you feel.
The activities I enjoyed in the ILT was the Black Out Poetry because it was fun to do the drawings on the paper that you did the poem and it is really creative if you think about it.
The worst was the Poetry slam because our group was unprepared.
The challenging one was the Poetry Slam because you had to write a poem and then act it out .
I don’t really love performing in front of people because I’m really shy.
I learnt about the word stanza.
This ILT actually showed that I’m quiet good at writing a poem.
